Our team of employees have worked on literally
thousands of pieces. Not only are we able to make pieces
thought to be trash look like new again, but we have
manufactured pieces for residential and commercial
applications. In fact we have:
- reupholstered and refurbished pieces from the
1800's shipped directly from an antiques shop in
England.
- manufactured custom sectional sofas for a private
residence.
- built custom guest chairs for private shopping
offices in an upscale store in New York City.
- replicated furniture to replace damaged pieces in
a major downtown hotel.
Refinishing and refurbishing are also matters of personal
pride with us. People often confuse the two leading to a
misunderstanding when comparing numbers between
companies.
Complete refinishing is a process in which all of the old finish
is stripped off, the piece is completely but lightly sanded, the
wood is sealed, new color is added, and a durable top coat is
applied. Each part has multiple steps requiring precision and
care, this makes the process longer and much more thorough
than refurbishing. It is suggested that full refinishing is done
when an entire surface is damaged, or a color change is
required.
Refurbishing or Touch-up: repair minor scratches, nicks,
water marks, etc. using stains sealers, and lacquers as
required. Also includes the use of burn in techniques for the
more severe gouges with acrylic resin compound.
Clean and polish: removal of grease oil and wax as well as
films and residue using specially formulated wood cleaners.
Process shall include applications of oils to enhance the
original finish that was applied. This process is intended to
help the wood and finish from drying and cracking.
